We are a purpose-led company, and so Travelon values ethical practices are found in every step of the product design, manufacturing and supply chain process. By making products that provide better travel experiences, our employees share their love for travel through everyday practices that are rooted in Travelon’s shared core beliefs in key areas:

Travelon Core Beliefs

  • Respect for the individual and the health of our planet
  • Service our customers honorably
  • Strive for excellence in all we do

Our company wide efforts toward corporate responsibility focuses on the disciplines of our business:

Product

We make products that improve our social, ethical and environmental performance. We take a holistic approach to managing and improving the environmental impact of our products through the supply chain processes

Design for Quality and Longevity

We are committed to designing innovative and functional products enabling consumers to keep pursuing their passion for travel. Travelon has vigorous material and product testing standards to ensure the quality and durability of our products. By extending the product life we actually conserve material resources and help consumers get the most out of our products. We are proud of our quality standards and offer a limited warranty on all of them.

Versatility in Design

Our design team’s primary goal is to create: “high quality, versatile products that will be relevant for many trips to come.” Functionality and classic design ensure that the customer can feel confident with our products in any travel experience and in everyday life. This level of versatility means a product can be used over and over again – reducing general consumption.

Cost & Waste Considerations

We want consumers to have access to a high quality, enduring product at an accessible price. We are focused on designing the waste out of a product. Our high standards help our vendors to reduce fabric wastage in the material cutting phase.

Manufacturing

We only work with vendors that share our values of fair and ethical treatment of workers, safe working conditions, transparency and sustainable manufacturing practices. We ensure our vendors comply with all local and national laws and regulations of the jurisdictions in which the suppliers are doing business as well as the practices of their industry. Travelon guarantees that none of their products infringe on the patents, trademarks or copyrights of others.

Human rights:

All suppliers must conduct their business in a manner that incorporates the values set forth in Travelon’s core basic beliefs and follow Travelon’s requirements regarding employment conditions and human rights as outlined below:

Compensation:

Vendors shall fairly compensate their employees by providing wages and benefits that are in compliance with the local and national laws.

Hours of Labor:

Employees shall not work more than 72 hours per 6 days, or 14 hours per calendar day. Supplier’s factories should be working toward achieving a 60-hour workweek. Travelon will not use suppliers who require employees to work in excess of the statutory requirements without proper compensation as required by applicable law. Employees should be permitted reasonable days off (at least one day off for every seven-day period) and leave privileges.

Forced Labor:

Travelon will not accept products from suppliers who directly or indirectly use in any manner forced labor or prison labor.

Child Labor:

Travelon will not tolerate the use of child labor and will not accept products from suppliers who directly or indirectly use child labor.

Discrimination/Human Rights:

Travelon recognizes that cultural differences and practices exist, however, Travelon chooses suppliers who are committed to basic principles of human rights and who do not discriminate against their employees in hiring practices or any other term or condition of work on the basis of race, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, or other similar factors.

Freedom of Association and Collective Bargaining:

Suppliers will respect the rights of employees regarding their decision of whether to associate or not to associate with any group, as long as such groups are legal in their own country. Suppliers must not interfere with, obstruct or prevent such legitimate groups.

Workplace Environment:

Factories producing merchandise to be sold by Travelon shall provide adequate medical facilities. Travelon will not do business with any supplier that provides an unhealthy or hazardous work environment or which utilizes mental or physical disciplinary practices.

Concern for the Environment:

Travelon encourages its customers and associates to always reduce, reuse, and recycle; consequently, Travelon works to reduce excess packaging and to use recycled and non-toxic materials whenever possible. Travelon will favor suppliers who share its commitment to the environment.

Logistics & Operations

We work to manage our operations efficiently to reduce climate impact. Packing and Transportation are two key areas that we have effected greatly.

Packing:

Our transport packaging specifications are designed to minimize packaging materials. We specify that our manufacturing partners use “single wall” cartons instead “double wall” cartons, thereby significantly reducing the packaging material required for product shipments.

Transport:

We look to optimize and reduce environmental impacts associated with transporting our products from the countries where they are manufactured to our customers. Starting with Container Optimization, we have increased the efficiency of product shipments through optimizing loading and packing, that leads to the decrease in the number of containers used, thereby decreasing carbon emissions and our overall carbon footprint.

Community

Being careful stewards of our environment and inspiring more people to travel - we are reaching and contributing to communities locally and around the world. Our travel and business experiences are what connects us to these communities, and attracts people to Travelon. That is why our priority is to imagine and invent new products that make travel easier and safe, and more accessible to all.

One part of our community outreach involves actively partnering with Adaptive Adventures, a national organization that provide progressive outdoor sports opportunities to improve quality of life for children, adults, and veterans with physical disabilities. From skiing to rock climbing and more, this organization gives members of the disabled community the confidence to reach their potential and to experience freedom through mobility. In an ongoing effort, our leadership and employees volunteer time and resources to this worthwhile and growing community.

Diversity

Travelon fosters a vibrant community of employees who love travel and by making travel easier and safer, together we make it more accessible. We know that when we do this well, we succeed as a business.

Travelon is a place where you can be yourself, be heard and be respected—working alongside people who share these values and their passion for travel.

Our employees are eligible for high quality, affordable health care benefits. We have a generous retirement plan, and every employee is eligible for bonus pay. We encourage a balanced life with planned time away from work. This is why our benefits include paid holidays and paid vacations.

Our employees and work environment requirements have evolved. Our progress includes female leadership and our focus is on equality in gender, race, age and physical ability/disabilities. We work to attract, recruit and retain a diverse employee base. By partnering with local organizations like Clearbrook, who serve adults with autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy and other intellectual/developmental disabilities we further expand Travelon’s vibrant employee community.

Moving forward, we continue our commitment to diversifying the places where we look for talent and to making the connection between the diversity in our communities and the employees in our workforce.
